    Initiative V

It is time to act on issues that affect our families, our schools and our environment.

    The National Center for Parents
An initiative of the College of Health and Human Services, The National Center for Parents was established to empower and support parents in the care and nurturing of their children - and to conduct research that could help shape public policy on issues that affect families.

    The Mathematics and Science Initiative
Through collaborations that cross department, college and even institutional boundaries, The Mathematics and Science Initiative will help identify research-based methods that improve the teaching of math and science to K-12 students - and communicate those findings to teachers throughout the region.

The Legal Institute of the Great Lakes
A program housed within the College of Law, The Legal Institute of the Great Lakes is dedicated to the discussion of the legal, economic, social and environmental issues related to the nation's five most prominent inland bodies of water. The Institute plays a major role in crafting public policy related to water management, remediation and water rights.
